Bohemian Chic: You like to use Anthropologie, Free People, and classic secondhand finds. You’re an expert in achieving a rich look (without spending a great deal of cash ) by layering textures and cultural patterns, picking stone tones and antique brass metals.

This look is probably my favorite. A worldly and interesting bedroom can be created by enjoying older items, the customs of other cultures, and pieces with a folky feel.

Crochet Pillow Cover – $6.95

Seven bucks? Grandma chic mixes nicely with your diverse bohemian look. A touch of the planet world traditions provides texture without color — a wonderful balance to vibrant ethnic prints without being too frilly.

Urban Outfitters

Ikat Woven Tapestry – $69

Ikat patterns are not going out of fashion anytime soon, so tap into the fashion with this reasonably priced tapestry. It may be used as a bedspread or a wall hanging, based upon your vision. The subtle ikat cloth feels exotic and cultural without being too colorful or on the surface.

PBteen

Diamond Kilim Rug – $129

The kilim-style design of jewel-toned diamonds add a richness and sophistication to your floor. The colours and patterns go nicely with the ikat bedspread with no matchy matchy — a layered and relaxed global motif is the supreme goal.

Polish Art Center

Polish Art Center – Pajak – Mobile of Paper and Straw – $99

The traditional Pajak (a newspaper blossom and straw mobile) is a vibrant Polish folk decoration. It’ll look anything but traditional as decoration and function as quite the conversation starter. It will make you happy each time you take a look at it, and if you are feeling ambitious, you can undertake on a DIY model.

Amazon

Verilux Princeton Natural Spectrum Desk and Table Lamp – $70

Here is an elegant lamp with an antique brass finish that hints to early 1900s bankers’ lamps. The appeal of the lamp is the fact that it looks older and adds another level of storied background to the room you’re constructing.

The Architectural Minimalist: You wear Zara and H&M, but aspire to Prada and Helmut Lang. You aren’t super fussy or caught up in trends, but it doesn’t mean that you don’t care about how things look. You like things tidy, simple, and uncluttered but with precise lines and architectural geometry. You lean towards glowing whites, grays, khakis, and some black with very few color accents.

AREAWARE

AREAWARE Gorilla Pillow – $28

Produced by Ross Menuez, these fauna pillows come in an assortment of animal options and colours (if infant gorillas aren’t your thing). Consider it as a grownup version of the packed Teddy bear you left in your home. The monochromatic high contrast images include an element of playfulness and just the slightest touch of color.

Amazon

Divatex Cotton Club Stripe 250-Thread Count Duvet Mini Set – $29.88

You can’t go wrong with stripes or a white-and-gray color combo. They are classic and effortless and will literally go with any color sheets or accent pillow. I enjoy the thick stripes. Consider pairing these with thin-striped sheets. The wrinkle-free cotton is very appealing once you have better things to do with your time than iron.

Pier 1 Imports

Black & White Diamond Chenille Rug – $19.98

Wow, another steal at only $20. The black-and-white diamond chenille carpet is simple in its own geometry and will unobtrusively blend in almost any other decor items in the room. The chenille softness will include lusciousness to your floor, and your toes will thank you.

Etsy

Perfect Twist Poster – $50

A large (36″ x 48″) black-and-white poster printed in halftone on bond paper, via a plotter as used by architects for both building documents and engineering prints. A very unique art piece that screams cool. The same Etsy shop has many other prints available in an identical format.

Lamps Plus

Moderne Brushed Steel End Table Lamp – $44.95

A modern lamp that does its function, but is also attractive to look at. The architectural starkness of the white drum shade is highlighted by the female and fluid brushed metal lamp body to make a wonderful balance. It is on sale at the end of September — ideal for back to school.
