Pull the top mattress off and then put it alongside the base to create a bed that’s somewhere between queen and king size (cover it with king-size sheets). Separate the two to create twin beds.
In terms of aesthetics beyond the geometry, the piping details add thickness, emphasize the modern lines and provide the couch a more tailored look.
